Value Added Personnel Pty Ltd. is seeking a meticulous Blender / Batch Maker for our South-East Melbourne facility to join a core manufacturing team focused on precise batching, HACCP compliance and product quality.

You will bulk batch ingredients, weigh and blend using semi-automated equipment, perform in-process quality checks, and maintain batch records to ensure traceability and consistent product texture and color.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in liquid batching, blending, or compounding in food/beverage or pharmaceutical plants.
• Ability to interpret formulas and perform unit conversions on automated batching systems.
• Solid CIP system and chemical handling knowledge for hygienic processing.
• Experience with pH meters, refractometers, and lab testing equipment.
• Troubleshoot liquid transfer pumps, valves, flow meters, and mixing controls.

Responsibilities

• Bulk batching per batch sheets and SOPs.
• Weigh and blend raw ingredients using semi-automated equipment.
• Perform in-process quality checks (pH, viscosity, temperature, sensory).
• Execute CIP sanitation cycles on lines, pumps, and tanks to hygiene standards.

Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW We are seeking a meticulous Blender / Batch Maker to join our cutting-edge facility in South-East Melbourne. In this core manufacturing role, you will combine, blend and batch, ensuring precise recipe execution, strict HACCP compliance, and product quality and compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Bulk Recipe Batching: Prepare and execute precise batching per batch sheets and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Ingredient Metering: Weigh, meter and blend raw material ingredients using semi-automated decanting and mixing vessels.
• In-Process Quality Checks: Conduct quality tests, pH, viscosity, temperature, and sensory evaluation before releasing batches.
• Clean-In-Place (CIP): Execute automated CIP sanitation cycles on decanting, pumping and mixing stations, transfer lines and holding tanks to strict hygiene standards.
• Traceability & Logs: Maintain accurate batch records and ingredient traceability logs in real time.
• Process Monitoring: Monitor agitators and chilled tanks to preserve blend texture, natural color, and product consistency.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Food/Beverage Processing: 2+ years of liquid batching, blending, or compounding experience in food, beverage, dairy, or pharmaceutical plants.
• Recipe Formulation: Strong ability to interpret involved formulas, perform unit conversions, and operate automated batching systems.
• Sanitation Knowledge: Solid understanding of CIP systems, chemical handling safety, and food plant micro-hygiene.
• Quality Testing: Practical skills using refractometers, pH meters, and lab testing equipment.
• Technical Aptitude: Ability to troubleshoot liquid transfer pumps, valves, flow meters, and automated mixing control panels.

QUALIFICATIONS, LICENCES & ENVIRONMENT

• Food Safety: Certificate in Food Safety & Hygiene (e.g., HLTFSE001 / HACCP Level 2/3) ideally required.
• Qualifications: Certificate III in Food Processing or Food Science background highly regarded.
• Forklift Licence: LF Forklift licence advantageous for staging Intermediate Bulk Containers and drums.
• Physical Requirements: Fit and able to handle ingredient packs up to 20kg each in process areas.
