Job summary

Hunter Valley Operations seeks a Mining Superintendent - Blast and Pit Services to lead a large open-cut production team on site in NSW. You will provide safety-focused leadership to the blasting and pit services groups, coordinating with supervisors to optimise outcomes and maintain environment and community standards.

Applicants should have proven experience in open-cut operations, blasting, water management, and in developing mining supervisors.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading large operational teams in an open cut environment.
• Demonstrated Experience in shot firing activities and water management.
• Experience supporting and developing mining supervisors to maximise mine productivity, cultural alignment and employee growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong and effective leadership and coaching to a team of supervisors to influence and focus the direction of the Blasting and Pit Services teams.
• Oversee, plan and implement tasks to optimise production results in the areas of health, safety, environment and community.
• Support operational and divisional budget in terms of managing resources effectively including monitoring and controlling costs
• Assist in the development and continuous improvement of standards, procedures and processes.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify and communicate risks associated with health, safety and environmental impacts.
