Job summary

CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency, seeks a Bioinformatics Coordinator/ Research Scientist for the National Biodiversity DNA Library. You will coordinate bioinformatics activities, deliver high-quality DNA data analyses, and collaborate with researchers and collection partners across the country to advance biodiversity research.

You will bring a PhD in systematics or bioinformatics, strong programming and HPC skills, and a proven ability to lead complex projects and communicate results

Qualifications

• : PhD in a relevant field; strong analytical and investigative skills.
• - Ability to coordinate and lead complex projects with tight timelines.
• - Experience with molecular species identification, phylogenetics or molecular evolution is advantageous.
• - Experience communicating scientific results to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver bioinformatics activities for Australia’s National Biodiversity DNA Library.
• Deliver high-quality DNA data analysis and research outcomes.
• Collaborate with researchers, museums, collections and biodiversity experts nationwide.
• Identify innovative solutions to scientific and technical challenges.
• Share research outcomes through publications, presentations and stakeholder engagement.
