Job summary

The Royal Melbourne Hospital – Parkville VIC is seeking a qualified laboratory professional to join the Biochemistry/Immunology team. You will perform biochemical, haematological and immunological analyses using automated and manual methods, and rotate across sections to support patient care.

This role requires a Bachelor of Applied Science or Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) with experience in a hospital or private Biochemistry/Immunology lab being desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Applied Science or Bachelor of Science or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in a tertiary hospital or private Biochemistry/Immunology lab is desirable.
• Commitment to customer-focused service.
• Ability to perform under pressure and meet time constraints.
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform biochemical, haematological and immunological analyses using automated instrumentation and manual methods.
• Register and process specimens, including pre-analytic preparation.
• Rotate between Biochemistry and Immunology laboratory sections.
• Participate in a 24/7 rotating shift roster, including evenings, nights and weekends.
• Undertake other related laboratory duties as required.
