Job summary

Stantec’s Water team in Australia is seeking a BIM Manager to lead digital delivery across dams, pipelines and treatment facilities. You will coordinate BIM processes, federate multidisciplinary designs, and ensure quality in line with ISO 19650.

You will mentor team members, collaborate with engineers and project managers, and help develop project scope, budgets and schedules while driving digital engineering innovation.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering with at least 5 years’ BIM‑focused project experience.

About The Role

This role is responsible for the Digital management and coordination of engineering projects such as dams, pipelines, pump stations and various water and sewage systems including treatment plants. We have a significant pipeline of projects and have secured highly sought after, exciting and challenging projects. You will work with the larger team of knowledgeable, supportive and passionate professionals and carry out tasks including:

• Management and coordination of project Digital Deliverables and BIM processes.
• Federate and coordinate multidiscipline projects in the design, review and delivery of digital deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers and other project, company and client staff.
• Engage in the development of design through sketches, digital models, diagrams, and other visual formats, and prepare and revise documentation outputs in various phases.
• Manage deliverable quality in line with internal processes.
• Assist with developing and managing project scope including cost estimates, budget, staffing and schedule.
• Provide a central role in stakeholder liaising through federated model reviews
• Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments serve as a liaison between senior staff and design team.
• Support, mentor and upskill team members.

To Be Successful For This Role You'll Need

• 5 years’ experience delivering BIM‑focused projects.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Strong understanding of ISO 19650 principles and application.
• Leadership capability across multidisciplinary project teams.
• A solutions‑focused approach with strong problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work autonomously under project manager direction.
• Proficiency in BIM collaboration tools such as Navisworks, Revizto or similar.
• Experience with Common Data Environments (Forma/ACC, ProjectWise).
• Experience preparing Digital Execution Plans.
• Revit, Civil 3D or Plant 3D experience (advantageous).
• Water infrastructure design/drafting/modelling experience (advantageous).
• A proactive mindset and passion for digital engineering innovation.
