Job summary

A Kaur & R.S Maan in regional NSW seeks a Fruit Inspector to conduct quality inspections, grade produce, collect samples and support QA improvements. A Diploma in Horticulture and at least 1 year of relevant experience are required, with strong attention to detail and clear communication.

You will work independently on farm operations, enforcing safety and OH&S standards while maintaining thorough quality records and staying current with industry regulations and trends.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Horticulture required with 1 year of fruit inspector experience.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems with critical thinking.
• Excellent oral communication and keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of produce for quality, size, colour, maturity and overall condition.
• Examine crops and provide recommendations to improve yield quality and quantity.
• Collect samples for testing and assessment.
• Evaluate and grade produce based on size, appearance and quality standards.
• Identify defects and recommend corrective actions to prevent issues.
• Test soil, water and produce for contamination and safety compliance.
• Collaborate to implement quality control measures and improvements.
• Inspect farm operations and oversee QA procedures for regulatory compliance.
• Ensure hygiene and food safety at storage, processing, packaging, and transport sites.
• Train farm workers on disease control, contamination risks and OH&S implications.
• Enforce compliance with quarantine, safety and regulatory standards; maintain records.
