Job summary

Everyday Independence in Mornington is seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to provide life-changing therapy to NDIS participants. You’ll work across homes, schools, playgrounds, workplaces and community centres, implementing function-based Behaviour Support Plans and conducting FBAs.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, tap into supervision, and enjoy streamlined reporting and development opportunities within a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant health field and registrations such as AHPRA/SPA/AASW
• Minimum 12 months experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
• Valid Australian driver's license
• NDIS Worker screening check and Working with Children Check
• Ability to work in diverse settings and collaborate in interdisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Deliver life-changing therapy to NDIS participants.
• Work in homes, schools, playgrounds, workplaces and community centres.
• Develop and implement Behaviour Support Plans with function-based strategies.
• Conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and attend weekly hub meetings.

About The Role

We are looking for experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners to provide life-changing therapy to NDIS participants. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Everyday Independence, no two days will be the same. If you were here last week, these are some of the things you may have done:

• Working in the social model means you’ll work in diverse settings; from homes and schools to playgrounds, workplaces, and community centres
• Utilizing assessment and intervention skills to support participants in achieving their goals and maximizing NDIS funding
• Building meaningful relationships with the participants and their supports (family, carers, friends)
• Developing and implementing Behaviour Support Plans with function-based strategies, utilising positive behaviour support framework
• Conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA)
• Collaborating within interdisciplinary teams to address complex behavioural challenges
• Attend weekly team meetings in the Hub; sharing stories of impact, coffee and laughs
• You’ll tap into the knowledge and support of your Team Leader and dedicated Therapy Mentor

Who We Are Looking For

To work as a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor, Masters or Graduate Diploma) and relevant registration such as the below:

• If you are an Occupational Therapist, you will have a degree in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration
• If you are a Speech Pathologist, you will have a degree in Speech Pathology and SPA registration
• If you are a Social Worker, you will have a degree in Social Work and AASW membership
• If you are a Mental Health Nurse, you'll have a degree in Nursing and AHPRA registration
• You have a degree inPsychology, Psychological/Social Science or related field and BSPA membership

You’ll also need:

• Be deemed as a Behaviour Support Practitioner by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (evidence of letter required)
• Minimum 12 months experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner
• A positive and flexible approach to work
• Strong communication skills and be a team player
• Commitment to personal and professional growth
• A valid Australian drivers license
• NDIS Workers Screening Check
• Working with Children Check
