Ability Action Australia is seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner for our North Lakes office, joining a multidisciplinary team in a hybrid role. You will support NDIS participants living in the North Brisbane region, conducting assessments, developing Behaviour Support Plans, and helping families implement strategies.

The role emphasizes person-centred practice, reducing restrictive interventions, and ongoing professional development within Ability Action Australia and MedHealth.

Qualifications

• Experience with the NDIS framework and disability support.
• Relevant degree in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, disability studies or ABA.
• Ability to develop Behaviour Support Plans and provide family support.
• Strong report writing skills and caseload management.

Responsibilities

• Assist NDIS participants and families to manage challenging behaviours and improve quality of life.
• Complete thorough assessments to identify triggers, risks and strategies.
• Develop Behaviour Support Plans and support families for implementation.
• Maintain a caseload with ongoing monitoring and adjustments.
• Develop goals and strategies using positive behaviour support framework.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and advocate for best-practice.
