Job summary

Noor Bees Perth is seeking an experienced Apiarist / Queen Bee Breeding Specialist to manage commercial queen breeding and apiary operations across Western Australia. This full-time role includes supervising staff and coordinating seasonal hive management.

Key duties cover colony health monitoring, controlled mating programs, disease surveillance and accurate record keeping at multiple sites in WA. Opportunity to travel between apiaries is included.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant commercial beekeeping or queen breeding experience.
• Strong experience in queen rearing, selective breeding and colony management.
• Instrumental insemination experience highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of bee health, pest surveillance and biosecurity.
• Relevant beekeeping qualification or vocational training preferred.
• Driver licence required or ability to obtain an Australian licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial apiaries and monitor colony health and productivity.
• Conduct queen rearing, selective breeding and controlled mating programs.
• Perform instrumental/artificial insemination where required.
• Inspect hives and manage bee health, disease risks and biosecurity.
• Maintain breeding, colony and production records.

• Maintain beekeeping equipment and relevant farm equipment.
• Supervise and train apiary staff.
• Travel to other apiary sites within Western Australia as required.

Employment: Full-Time, 38 hours per week

Salary: AUD $85,000 per annum + statutory superannuation

Accommodation: Fully employer-funded accommodation provided at the primary work location for the duration of employment.
