Job summary

Melbourne Hospitality People – Saint Kilda VIC is seeking a hands-on Restaurant Manager to take ownership of daily operations in a beachside, high-volume venue. You will oversee service standards, guest experience, and team development, reporting to the Operations and Venue Manager.

You'll lead FOH staff across lunch and dinner, shape the venue's relaunch, and work with the kitchen to ensure seamless communication, cost control, and ongoing staff training while delivering memorable hospitality

Qualifications

• Experience as Restaurant Manager in a high-volume venue.
• Passion for Modern Australian cuisine and contemporary dining trends.
• Confident, calm leadership with ability to motivate during busy service.
• Excellent guest-facing communication and rapport-building skills.
• Strong organisational skills — rostering, stock control, and cost management.
• Current RSA and Food Safety certificates (or willingness to obtain).
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Experience opening or relaunching a venue is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate front-of-house staff to deliver consistently excellent service.
• Oversee daily floor operations across lunch, and dinner service.
• Train and mentor team members on service standards, menu knowledge, and wine/beverage offerings.
• Manage bookings, guest relations, and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
• Work closely with Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure seamless FOH/BOH communication.
• Support budgeting, rostering costs, and driving revenue targets.
• Ensure RSA, food safety, and workplace health & safety requirements.
• Help shape and maintain the culture and standards of the relaunch venue.
