About the role

We’re seeking a visionary and strategic Battery Storage Development Manager to lead the development and deployment of innovative network and non-network energy solutions. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our energy network by delivering cutting‑edge technologies such as standalone power systems, microgrids and battery storage at scale. You’ll provide technical and strategic leadership ensuring our network evolves to meet the demands of a changing energy landscape while delivering value to our customers.

You’ll be responsible for establishing governance frameworks driving innovation and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our solutions are technically sound, commercially viable and aligned with our corporate strategy.

This role will be based within the Essential Energy footprint with the ability to work from home in a hybrid work environment.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent demonstrated capability through relevant experience and/or qualifications
Desired Experience
  • Experience in product innovation and deployment of network and non‑network energy solutions
  • Proven leadership in asset management and cross‑functional teams
  • Strategic policy development and industry engagement experience
  • Knowledge of AS ISO 55001 : 2014 and asset management practices
  • Familiarity with the Australian electricity regulatory environment
  • Experience in automating complex processes and reporting
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Business, Commerce or Asset Management (desirable)
