Job summary

Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour is seeking a passionate Bartender for Champagne Bar in the heart of Sydney. Deliver cocktails, champagne, wine and other beverages with French flair and exceptional hospitality.

Bring premium beverage knowledge, guest service excellence, and a team spirit. RSA certified with full Australian working rights; availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is preferred to maintain our high standard of service.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending or beverage service in premium or high-volume environments.
• Passion for cocktails, champagne, wine and guest service.
• Strong beverage knowledge with ability to make recommendations.
• Attention to detail and consistency in presentation.
• Calm, organized and attentive during busy service periods.
• RSA certificate and full Australian working rights are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve cocktails, champagne, wine, spirits and other beverages to Sofitel standards.
• Deliver warm, engaging and personalised service to every guest.
• Confidently recommend beverages based on guest preferences and demonstrate product knowledge.
• Maintain excellent presentation of the bar, glassware, equipment and service areas.
• Ensure beverages are prepared consistently, accurately and efficiently.
• Take orders, process transactions and maintain accurate guest accounts.
• Assist with stock replenishment, stocktakes, ordering and minimising wastage.
• Maintain responsible service of alcohol standards at all times.
• Work closely with the wider Food & Beverage team to ensure smooth service.
• Support colleagues during busy periods and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Respond to guest requests and concerns professionally and take ownership where possible.
• Look for opportunities to create memorable moments and exceed guest expectations.

The Opportunity

We're looking for our next extraordinary team member to join our Food & Beverage team as Bartender at Champagne Bar. Located in the heart of Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour, Champagne Bar is a vibrant space where exceptional beverages, French flair and genuine hospitality come together. As a Bartender, you'll bring your personality and passion to every service, creating memorable experiences through expertly crafted cocktails, champagne, wine and beverages.

You’ll be confident behind the bar and equally comfortable engaging with guests, making recommendations and creating an atmosphere that feels welcoming, polished and effortless. From the first pour to the final farewell, you’ll play an important role in delivering the warm, personalised service that defines Sofitel.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve cocktails, champagne, wine, spirits and other beverages to Sofitel standards.

Deliver warm, engaging and personalised service to every guest.

Confidently recommend beverages based on guest preferences and demonstrate strong product knowledge.

Maintain excellent presentation of the bar, glassware, equipment and service areas throughout each shift.

Ensure all beverages are prepared consistently, accurately and efficiently.

About You

You're a passionate hospitality professional who loves being behind the bar, connecting with guests and creating memorable experiences.

You bring:

Previous bartending or beverage service experience, ideally within a premium, luxury or high-volume hospitality environment.

A genuine passion for cocktails, champagne, wine and exceptional guest service.

Strong beverage and product knowledge, with the confidence to make recommendations and engage with guests.

Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering beverages with consistency and presentation.

A warm, confident and charismatic personality with a natural ability to connect with guests.

The ability to remain calm, organised and attentive during busy service periods.

A strong team mentality and willingness to support your colleagues wherever needed.

A genuine can do attitude and passion for creating memorable guest experiences.

A current RSA certificate.
