Job summary

Jamaica Blue Kotara is seeking a Barista / Cafe All Rounder to join the team. The successful applicant will be passionate, with barista experience in a fast-paced cafe and a solid understanding of extraction, dosage, and latte art.

The role requires the ability to work independently on the coffee machine during busy rushes, and a willingness to help run coffees, clear tables, serve on the register, and do dishes. A bonus for experience in short order cooking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee beverages with quality and consistency.
• Clear tables and reset cafe for the next customers.
• Take orders at the register and handle payments.
• Clean dishes and maintain kitchen area.
• Help run coffees during busy periods.

have a solid understanding of barista concepts including extraction, dosage and latte art

be able to work independently on the coffee machine and handle busy rushes by themselves

be willing to help run coffees, clear tables, serve on the register and do dishes

experience with kitchen short order cooking is a bonus!

The position requires:

commitment to being reliable for ongoing regular shifts with limited unavailabilities (uni students will need to be able to commit to the shifts when uni goes back)

available to work Nov, Dec and Jan with no request for time off during this period

4 - 5 shifts per week including one weekend day as required

flexible working hours as the cafe opens 7:45-5:15 daily
