Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Barge Master to lead safe and compliant operations for a non-self-propelled jack-up barge supporting water infrastructure in Western Australia. You will implement the Safety Management System, coordinate marine interfaces with project teams and third parties, and ensure crew and equipment remain ready for operations.

Qualifications

• High-risk work licences as required under WHS laws.
• 2–3 campaigns on jack-up barges in Assistant Barge Master or equivalent.
• Vessel SMS (RAV-BEV-SMS-000) and Safe Operating Procedures.
• STCW Basic Safety Training: PSSR, PST, FPFF.
• GMDSS (A3) and ECDIS endorsement (if fitted).
• Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Ability to obtain Fit for Work medical and National Crime Check.

Responsibilities

• Hold ultimate responsibility for crew and vessel safety.
• Implement and maintain the vessel's SMS and environmental policy.
• Approve risk assessments and enforce permit-to-work processes.
• Lead inductions, drills and crew competency checks.
• Command mooring, unmooring and safe port operations.
• Direct emergency response, musters and lifesaving equipment.
• Maintain SMS records and report to shore management.
