Job summary

Propel Recruitment is recruiting for a Banking Operations and Funding Team Leader within a growing non-bank lender’s finance team in Sydney. You will manage daily cash movements across 60+ bank accounts, oversee reconciliations, and mentor two Accounts Associates supporting loan fundings and banking operations.

You will ensure liquidity, lead funding drawdowns, and maintain treasury relationships while upholding internal controls and reporting needs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in banking or non-bank lending.
• Strong grasp of cash flow management, loan settlements, and banking operations.
• Prior direct experience processing high-volume transactions and complex funding arrangements.
• Familiarity with loan lifecycle processes (drawdowns, repayments, settlements) preferred.
• Experience mentoring/training junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily cash flow and liquidity to fund new loan settlements; lead short-term forecasting.
• Monitor fund availability and manage cash movements.
• Act as primary contact for loan funding and banking matters; manage relationships with settlement and treasury teams.
• Review and approve funding drawdowns, repayments, and related transactions.
• Oversee daily payment processes, cashbook allocations, wallet allocations, and investor distributions.
• Ensure compliance with funding agreements, lender requirements, and internal controls.
• Oversee bank reconciliations.
• Maintain the loan book (new loans, drawdowns, repayments) and support audit/reporting needs.
• Provide oversight and review of reconciliation outputs prepared by the team.
• Build scalable processes to improve finance operations efficiency.

Banking Operations & Funding Team Leader

A growing non-bank lender is seeking an experienced Banking & Funding Operations Team Lead to join their finance team, created in response to rising transaction volumes and payments complexity across the Group. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll manage cash flow, payment arrangements, and banking relationships, while mentoring two Accounts Associates supporting loan fundings, banking, and reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

This role sits in finance and works closely with Treasury and Settlements. Ultimately you will be responsible for daily cash movements between 60+ bank accounts, AND overseeing bank reconciliations.
