Job summary

Gilbert + Tobin is seeking a banking and finance lawyer with at least two years' post-qualification experience to work on complex transactions in a supportive, merit-based environment.

You will collaborate with partners and lawyers across transactions, disputes and regulation, and have the opportunity to contribute to market-shaping deals while developing your career within a leading Australian firm.

Qualifications

• Two years' PQE in banking and finance transactions, or equivalent experience.
• Initiative and willingness to contribute to complex matters and development opportunities.
• Strong drafting and analytical skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Assist partners on significant banking and finance transactions.
• Draft and review transactional documents and ancillary agreements.
• Liaise with clients, lenders, sponsors and other stakeholders.
• Support senior lawyers in deal strategy and execution.

About our Banking team

Our banking and finance team advises Australian and international financial institutions, investment banks, corporations and private equity funds.

We act for lenders, borrowers, sponsors and consortia on corporate transactions and complex restructuring projects. We also work with arrangers and investors, and understand the different commercial drivers behind each transaction. We anticipate key legal and commercial issues and guide our clients through them.

Work alongside talented partners and lawyers on transactions that shape the market.

About you

You are motivated to work on significant and complex transactions in a supportive environment. You will have:

• At least two years' PQE in banking and finance transactions, or equivalent experience, with exposure to leveraged, acquisition, project, corporate or real estate finance
• Initiative and a willingness to contribute to complex matters and make the most of development opportunities
• Strong drafting and analytical skills
• The ability to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels
• The ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with others
