Job summary

Homhero builds cloud software for short-term rental property management on the Gold Coast. You will help build a new NestJS/TypeScript engine while moving functionality from the PHP core, with React frontend evolution alongside the legacy stack.

We value tests, clear API documentation, and thoughtful integration with channels like OTA platforms. Remote consideration exists for the right person in a compatible time zone, with a strong focus on delivering high‑quality code.

Qualifications

• Experience owning backend services in a typed language.
• Comfortable reading and modifying code you did not write (including PHP).
• Experience integrating with third‑party APIs and handling edge cases.

Responsibilities

• Build out module based engine: bookings, availability, pricing, channel management, messaging, reporting, and public API, mostly in NestJS and TypeScript.
• Integrate with OTAs, pricing tools, and trust accounting systems.
• Migrate functionality from PHP core to NestJS; contribute to React frontend as it replaces Sencha.
• Write meaningful tests: unit, integration, and end‑to‑end.
• Create database migrations to move schema and data safely as product evolves.
• Keep auto generated API docs accurate as code changes.
