Job summary

Ingrity is sourcing an Application Support Engineer to maintain a production Azure/Databricks data environment for a major financial services client. The role is a long-term contract (12 months+) with Melbourne preferred and flexibility for strong candidates in other AU locations.

You will troubleshoot issues, manage deployments/infrastructure, and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to ensure reliable data platforms and cloud operations.

Qualifications

• Extensive Azure & Databricks production support experience.
• Strong Azure service experience (SQL, Cosmos DB, Data Factory, Blob Storage, Key Vault).
• Experience with CI/CD, Terraform, Git/GitOps and automation tooling.

Job description

We are currently looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer - Azure / Databricks to join a major financial services client as part of their Application Support Managed Services team. This is a long-term contract opportunity (12 months+), ideally Melbourne-based, although we're flexible to consider strong candidates in other Australian locations.

The Role

You'll be responsible for supporting and maintaining a production Azure/Databricks data environment, troubleshooting issues, managing deployments and infrastructure, and working closely with technical and business stakeholders.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure and Databricks within production/application support environments.
• Experience across Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory, Blob Storage, Key Vault and Azure DevOps.
• Strong Databricks knowledge including jobs, pipelines, notebooks, clusters, volumes, catalog/schema management and permissions.
• Good understanding of Lakehouse and Medallion Architecture, including ELT workloads using dbt.
• Strong knowledge of Spark / PySpark / SparkSQL, including Spark internals and using Spark UI for performance troubleshooting.
• Experience with Terraform, Git/GitOps, YAML, JSON and Shell/Bash/PowerShell.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting experience using Azure Log Analytics and Splunk.
• Strong production support capability including root cause analysis, performance/resource analysis, data reconciliation and incident resolution.
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines, deployment dependencies, secrets/credential rotation and DR/failover processes.
• Comfortable managing integrations and connections across APIs, JDBC and direct connectivity.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear reporting and updates to business and technical stakeholders.
