Job summary

Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in Sydney, NSW is seeking a data engineering specialist to join the Derivatives Clearing Technology team. You will own ingestion and curation of core data assets, shaping source-aligned data products and APIs for dashboards and reports.

You will collaborate with data owners and engineers, applying DevSecOps to automate complex pipelines while ensuring reliability in a critical market infrastructure environment. Hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineer with AWS data ingestion, curation, storage, orchestration, data management, analytics and distribution.
• Strong data modelling in a data warehousing environment following best practice data management standards.
• Solid data product architecture with DevSecOps practices to automate complex data pipelines.
• Experience in real-time streaming using Confluent Kafka and AWS services.
• Experience with Airflow, AWS Glue, Apache Iceberg, Athena, RedShift and DataZone.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau/Power BI/QuickSight.
• Proficient in Python, Spark and Terraform/Terragrunt.

Responsibilities

• Embedded within a line-of-business data team to understand data objectives and champion central data platform usage.
• Work in a domain-aligned data product team with data owners and SMEs alongside Technology engineers.
• Hands-on ingestion of ASX's core data assets and curation into source-aligned data products; create files, reports, dashboards and APIs.
• Be part of a data engineering community to drive standards, frameworks and best practices.
• Ensure data pipelines and products are designed to run in a critical market infrastructure environment.
