Job summary

Opus Recruitment Solutions in Melbourne is seeking an AWS AI Engineer to lead the development of AI-powered chatbots and voicebots using AWS Lex, Bedrock, and Connect. Immediate start on a 6-month contract with one-stage interviews next week.

You will build end-to-end AI/ML solutions on AWS, leveraging SageMaker, Bedrock, and foundation models. Strong TS and Python skills (Langchain, FastAPI) are required, with a focus on security and governance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience as a Senior AI/ML Engineer or Data Scientist specialising in AWS.
• Strong expertise with Amazon SageMaker including training, tuning, deploying and monitoring models.
• Deep knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, embeddings, vector databases and RAG.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, Typescript, Python (FastAPI, Langchain).
• Solid knowledge of AWS networking, IAM, VPC architecture and cloud security best practices.

I am exclusively partnered with a leading insurance company who are looking for an AWS AI Engineer to start immediately on a 6-month contract.

Develop AI-powered chatbots and voicebots using AWS Lex, AWS Bedrock, and AWS Connect.

Looking for someone to start immediately, interviews will be one stage and begin next week with the end client

What You Will Be Doing:

• Engineer end-to-end AI and machine learning solutions using AWS AI and ML services.


• Using Amazon Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, foundation models, knowledge bases, agents, and custom model fine-tuning.


• Writing agents with Typescript, Python (Langchain, FastAPI)


• Ensure compliance with AWS security, IAM, data governance, and enterprise architecture standards.

What You Bring:

• 3+ years' experience as a Senior AI/ML Engineer or Data Scientist specialising in AWS


• Deep expertise with Amazon SageMaker, including training, tuning, deploying, and monitoring machine learning models.


• Strong understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).


• Hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, Typescript, Python (FastAPI. Langchain)


• Solid knowledge of AWS networking, IAM, VPC architecture, and cloud security best practices.


• Familiarity with containerisation (Docker, ECS, EKS) and serverless architectures (AWS Lambda).


• Experience building data and AI pipelines using services such as AWS Glue, Kinesis, and Redshift is highly desirable.
