Job summary

Skytrans Australia is seeking a Safety Assurance Co-ordinator to provide safety assurance across our operations. Reporting to the General Manager Safety & Quality, you will help identify risks, manage hazards, and drive continuous improvement within our Safety Management System.

This full-time role can be based in Cairns or Brisbane, with travel. You will work with Safety Officers, Flight Safety Officers, and stakeholders to strengthen safety reporting, investigations, and a Just Culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ aviation safety experience.
• Experience overseeing Safety Management Systems (SMS).
• Sound knowledge of aviation safety reporting systems.
• Understanding CASA regulatory requirements; courses desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of the Safety Management System and drive safety improvements.
• Identify safety risks and hazards; support risk management and mitigation.
• Collaborate with safety and operations teams to promote reporting and investigation.
• Provide safety advice, mentoring and support a Just Culture environment.
• Support compliance with safety standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct independent audits and support surveillance and assurance activities.
• Monitor and review safety and quality systems, actions and corrective measures.
• Liaise with contractors, customers and regulators on safety matters.
• Undertake CASA-regulated duties as required.
