Job summary

MSS Security Pty Ltd is seeking a Part-Time Aviation Protection Officer to ensure the safety of passengers, staff and airport operations at Gladstone Airport. You will conduct security screening, operate ETD and X-ray systems, and monitor facilities to prevent security threats.

Essential requirements include Master Licence - 41299, full Australian working rights, strong communication and customer service, and the ability to pass medical and drug/alcohol testing.

Qualifications

About the role

MSS Security is seeking a Part-Time Aviation Protection Officer to join our team at Gladstone Airport.

As an Aviation Protection Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of passengers, staff and airport operations.

Duties

• Conduct security screening of passengers, staff, and visitors
• Operate screening equipment and security technology, including X-ray machines, metal detectors, and Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) systems.
• Perform passenger, staff, visitor, and baggage screening to identify prohibited items, dangerous goods, and security threats.
• Monitor and patrol airport facilities, reporting and responding to security incidents, breaches, and potential risks.

Requirements

• Full Australian working rights.
• Strong communication and customer service skills .
• Ability to undergo and pass a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing).
• 24/7 availability required.
• Master licence - 41299
