Job summary

Airservices Australia in Sydney Airport is seeking an Emergency Vehicle Technician Band 4 to own the specialist emergency response fleet at one or more locations. You will lead maintenance, diagnose faults, and ensure fire vehicles, rescue boats and equipment are ready to respond at a moment’s notice.

The role requires a recognised heavy-vehicle trade qualification, CMMS experience (MEX preferred), and the ability to work autonomously within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining heavy vehicles, mobile plant, specialist fleet assets or emergency response vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability across mechanical, hydraulic or associated systems.
• Ability to work autonomously while leading day-to-day maintenance activities and driving quality outcomes.
• Strong planning, organisation and communication skills, with a focus on safety and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead local maintenance activities and coordinate workshop operations.
• Diagnose complex faults and ensure assets are ready to respond.
• Manage the specialist fleet of emergency response vehicles and support equipment.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to maintain high readiness.
