Job summary

A leading mining company in Australia is seeking a technician for their Mobile Maintenance Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining electrical systems on mobile assets, ensuring compliance with safety standards. Required qualifications include a recognized trade certificate and experience in a heavy mobile equipment mining environment. The role offers a FIFO roster from Perth or Busselton, as well as a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • 3 years’ experience working in a heavy mobile equipment mining environment.
  • Ability to carry out fault diagnosis and repairs of integrated electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure and maintain electrical hardware and network technology systems.
  • Commission and calibrate autonomous haulage systems.
  • Ensure maintenance of fleet management systems for maximum efficiency.

Job description
Our Opportunity

Work Location : Eliwana -Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.

Roster : 7D / 7N / 14R – FIFO ex Perth or Busselton

This permanent full-time position is within our Mobile Maintenance Department and provides technical support to the daily running of Mining Production fleet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure and maintain electrical hardware and network technology systems across our mobile assets fleet
  • Commission and calibrate the perception, positioning and autonomous haulage systems on various HME
  • Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs of integrated Caterpillar and Liebherr HME electrical systems
  • Ensure the setup and maintenance of our fleet management systems are optimised to deliver maximum fleet efficiency and meet Mine Plan requirements
  • Collaborate with internal and external department team members while ensuring compliance with Fortescue standards and policies
  • Undertake all activities in line with company safety policies and procedures
Qualifications and Experience
  • Australian recognised trade certificate in Mechanical, Auto Electrical or HV Electrical or Certification in Electronic Communications
  • Experience with Caterpillar Command experience being highly desired
  • Strong commitment to safety with 3 years’ experience working in a heavy mobile equipment mining environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP maintenance systems
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written), plus strong organisational and time management abilities
  • High regard for safety
