Job summary

1300apprentice is seeking a motivated and reliable 1st Year Spray Painting Apprentice to join a great team and work towards a nationally recognised qualification. No previous spray-painting experience is required, just a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in hands‑on work!

You’ll gain practical experience on the job while completing your formal trade training. The role involves learning surfaces preparation, paint mixing, spray painting, finishing, safety procedures

Qualifications

• No prior spray-painting experience required; positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Interest in hands-on work and painting.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Good attention to detail and colour/finish eye.
• Physically fit for standing and bending.
• Driver’s licence (minimum P) required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding and removing rust, grease and dirt.
• Learn to mix paints and coatings to achieve the right finish.
• Use professional spray-painting equipment to apply paint.
• Develop techniques to achieve smooth, high-quality finishes.
• Sand and rub down surfaces between coats.
• Inspect finished work and touch up imperfections.
• Maintain spray guns and equipment.
• Follow workplace safety procedures.
