Job summary

Simply Sports Cars Pty Ltd seeks a qualified Accountant to join our team. The accountant will manage compliance-based financial reporting and advise Directors on financial, statutory and record-keeping matters to support governance and decision-making.

Responsibilities include budgeting, policy development, internal audits, BAS/GST and payroll tax, and ensuring robust financial information for management and statutory bodies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in accounting or closely related field.
• Graduate Diploma in International Financial Accounting or closely related field.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant professional experience as an Accountant or in a closely related field.
• Desirable experience in the automotive industry in Australia.
• Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, GST/BAS, FBT and other Australian taxation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company's budgeting and accounting policies, ensuring they comply with Australian Accounting Standards.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports for Directors and statutory bodies.
• Coordinate external audit and financier reporting.
• Prepare BAS/GST, payroll tax, and supporting information for the annual income tax return.
• Introduce and maintain the accounting systems and advise on software selections.
• Maintain internal controls over bank accounts, payroll and purchasing.
• Appraise cash flow and financial risk of capital investment projects.
• Advise management on record-keeping and statutory obligations.
