Job summary

Westpac Group is seeking an Automation Engineer to join the UNITE Program in a permanent, full-time role with hybrid working. Based in Sydney Warrane, Gadigal Country or the Gold Coast, you will design and build automation tools, integrate APIs, and improve CI/CD pipelines to make platforms faster, safer, and easier to use.

You will work with data engineers, product owners and business experts to turn complex problems into elegant automated solutions, using modern languages and AI-driven tools

Qualifications

Strong experience building software using Python, Java, Go or similar languages.
Hands on experience designing and delivering automation solutions in production environments.
Confidence working with CI CD tooling, APIs and integration patterns.
Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working in data engineering or platform focused teams.

Responsibilities

Design and build automation tools to remove manual effort from development and testing.
Code, integrate APIs, improve CI/CD pipelines, ensure security, scalability and production readiness.
