Why join the ASX?

When you join ASX, you’re joining a company with a strong purpose – to power a stronger economic future by enabling a fair and dynamic marketplace for all.

In your new role, you’ll be part of a leading global securities exchange with a strong brand. We are known for being a trusted market operator and an exciting data hub.

We are more than a securities exchange!

The ASX team brings together talented people from a diverse range of disciplines.

We run critical market infrastructure, with 1 in 3 people employed within technology. Yet we have a unique complexity of roles across a range of disciplines such as operations, program delivery, financial products, investor engagement, risk and compliance.

We’re proud to foster a workplace where diversity is celebrated and inclusion is part of our everyday culture. Our employee‑led networks champion LGBTIQ+ inclusion, promote gender equality, accessibility and wellbeing, inspire giving and volunteering, and celebrate cultural and religious events, creating a sense of belonging for all. As an AWEI Bronze employer and member of the Champions of Change Coalition for gender equality, we’re committed to a fair and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive.

Your responsibilities
  • Act as a practitioner and active contributor within the Quality Engineering and Testing (QE&T) Capability Community of Practice.
  • Work within cross‑functional teams across Lines of Business to coordinate testing, automation and quality engineering activities.
  • Design tests through in‑depth technical analysis of functional and non‑functional requirements, specifications and solution architecture.
  • Plan, execute and deliver testing across all relevant phases, including non‑functional testing, while operating independently and collaboratively across delivery teams.
  • Design, build, maintain and enhance automation frameworks; code, verify, amend and refactor automated tests, scripts and reusable libraries.
  • Maintain end‑to‑end traceability from tests to requirements and ensure supporting evidence is complete and auditable.
  • Support the Test Manager with test planning and with defining requirements for test environments, test data and tools.
  • Contribute to the selection of fit‑for‑purpose automation approaches, standards and tools, and apply them to achieve well‑engineered outcomes.
  • Participate in reviews of your own work and lead peer reviews of colleagues’ automation assets and engineering practices.
  • Interpret and execute complex test scenarios, analyse results, investigate failures and maintain accurate defect records.
  • Report progress, system quality, test results, anomalies, risks and issues associated with projects and releases, supported by meaningful metrics.
  • Implement and support the ASX Software Testing Policy and Guidelines within assigned work, tools and delivery contexts, maintaining relevant documentation.

  • Experience validating AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Lake Formation, DataZone, DMS and MWAA, where applicable.
  • Experience testing microservices, container‑based solutions, batch pipelines and event‑driven integrations.
  • Strong experience with ETL solutions, Business Objects, databases, SQL scripting, test environments and releases.
  • Automation engineering
  • Extensive automation experience using Python, Java or C#, including designing, building and maintaining scalable, reusable and reliable test automation frameworks.
  • Develop, verify, refactor and maintain automated test code and reusable libraries for functional, integration, API, data, regression and selected non‑functional testing.
