Job summary

Patterson Cheney Trucks Pakenham is seeking a qualified Auto Electrician to join our expanding workshop team. You will diagnose, repair and maintain a wide variety of commercial trucks and heavy vehicles, working alongside experienced technicians in a collaborative environment.

This permanent, full-time role offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus, Monday to Friday hours with occasional half-day Saturdays, and access to a modern, state-of-the-art workshop.

Qualifications

• Experience working on trucks, heavy vehicles or automotive electrical systems.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical information.
• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
• Current driver's licence (ideally truck licence).
• Commitment to high-quality workmanship and safety.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing faults and repairing electrical systems on commercial vehicles
• Installing and upgrading lighting, communications, GPS and accessory systems
• Performing electrical testing and inspections
• Working collaboratively with technicians and service advisors
• Maintaining accurate job records and repair documentation
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to manufacturer standards
