Job summary

Mw Recruitment in Brisbane CBD seeks an experienced Audit Supervisor to oversee engagements for ASX-listed clients and other sectors. You will work with Partners, Directors and Managers, taking on greater responsibility for team supervision and client relationships.

You will liaise with clients on queries, plan and oversee audits, and review work papers prepared by junior staff, while ensuring statutory reporting accuracy and deadlines.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience as an external auditor
• CA or CPA qualified (or close to completion)
• Commerce or Business degree majoring in Accounting
• Strong understanding of ASA, AASB and relevant legislation
• Proven ability to manage a client portfolio and meet deadlines
• Experience reviewing the work of junior staff

Responsibilities

About The Role

Our client, a leading professional services firm in Brisbane CBD, is seeking an experienced Audit Supervisor to join their team. You will work alongside Partners, Directors and Managers, overseeing engagements across a diverse and interesting client base including ASX listed companies, while taking on greater responsibility for team supervision and client relationships.

What You Will Be Doing

• Liaising directly with clients on audit and accounting queries
• Planning and overseeing audit engagements from start to finish
• Reviewing audit work papers prepared by junior and intermediate staff
• Drafting and reviewing annual financial reports
• Conducting statutory audits with general purpose financial reporting
• Supervising, coaching and developing junior audit team members
• Identifying risk areas and providing recommendations to clients
• Completing other assurance engagements as they arise
• Assisting Managers and Directors with ad hoc assignments

What We Are Looking For

• CA or CPA qualified (or close to completion), with a Commerce or Business degree majoring in Accounting
• Minimum 4 years' experience as an External Auditor, ideally within a mid tier or top tier firm
• Strong understanding of Australian Auditing Standards (ASA), Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and relevant legislation
• Proven ability to manage a client portfolio and meet deadlines
• Experience reviewing the work of junior staff
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional client facing skills with a proactive approach to managing expectations
• Above market salary package commensurate with experience
• Clear pathway to Manager level
