Job summary

NEP Australia is seeking an Audio & Communications Engineer to join our Brisbane team. The role focuses on efficient setup and in-field testing of audio/communications facilities across field or studio projects.

You will collaborate with the Audio Director and Technical Manager to align with production schedules, ensuring safe, neat environments and timely hand-overs. Weekend/evening work is common, with at least 3 years in TV broadcasting preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of television broadcasting experience.
• Solid knowledge of Riedel and RTS communications systems.
• Basic knowledge of audio consoles, with focus on LAWO and Calrec.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all audio communication facilities in and around the OB compound are functioning and patched for hand-over.
• Liaise with Audio Director and Technical Manager on scope and schedule of in-field facilities.
• Maintain neat, safe and professional environments for audio/communications equipment.

NEP Australia is currently looking for an Audio & Communications Engineer (Comms Technician) with exceptional drive and work ethics, excellent interpersonal skills, and brilliant technical minds to join our Australian Team based in Brisbane.

The principal purpose of this position is to efficiently set up, operational testing of the in-field audio/communications facilities of any field or studio project you are assigned to.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:

• To ensure all audio communication facilities in and around the OB compound are functioning and patched to be operationally ready by the scheduled hand-over time.
• To liaise with the project’s Audio Director and Technical Manager to ensure you are fully briefed on the size, scope, production schedule of the in-field audio and communications facilities required.
• Ensure the environment of the audio and communications facilities is neat and tidy and professionally presented and does not pose any danger to the public or co-workers.

Required skills and attributes:

• Both Riedel and RTS communications systems are used across our fleet of trucks and HUBs, and a solid and fundamental knowledge of these (or similar) Communications systems is a necessary requirement to apply for this role.
• Basic knowledge of audio consoles, with particular focus on LAWO and Calrec.
• A good level of Operational experience is a definite requirement, and ideally the candidate should have a good level of understanding of these devices at an Engineering level too.
• We do a lot of sport, so weekend and evening work are a predominant part of the role.
• Minimum 3 years of television broadcasting experience is preferred.
