A leading national law firm with a top-tier TMT (Technology, Media and Telecommunications) practice is expanding its team and seeking a high-calibre

Senior Associate or Associate

to join its growing practice in

Sydney, Brisbane, or Melbourne

The firm is looking for a

cyber, data, and AI law specialist

to advise clients on a wide range of matters including cyber preparedness and incident response, complex data and privacy issues (both advisory and transactional), the design and implementation of data and AI governance frameworks, and regulatory investigations or enforcement actions.

You will collaborate with colleagues across various practice areas to help clients across diverse industries navigate an increasingly complex regulatory and digital risk environment.

About You

You will ideally have :

  • Experience advising on cybersecurity preparedness, incident response, data protection, privacy, spam, surveillance, and regulatory investigations—gained from a leading top-tier, national, international, or in-house legal team.
  • Experience in AI governance, data transactions, and compliance with Australian cyber and privacy laws (international experience welcome).
  • Strong technical expertise and a solid academic background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal and technical issues into clear, practical advice.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a client-focused mindset.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, lead teams, and handle competing deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to business development, along with a desire to mentor and support others.
  • A genuine interest in continuous learning and professional growth.
