YOU:

You’re a smart, grounded, and confident lawyer looking for more - more responsibility, more clarity in your growth and future, and more meaningful client engagement.

You have 3–6 years’ post-admission experience (or close to it) in corporate or transactional law (private M&A), or you’re a strong commercial lawyer looking to work across both practice areas. You’re admitted to practise in Australia.

You believe the law should be practical, logical, and useful, and that working with lawyers should feel like a value-add, not a burden. You’re curious, commercially minded, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You care about the people behind the work - whether it’s your clients, your colleagues, or the graduate lawyer you’re helping to mentor. You’re looking for a workplace that shares your values and gives you the tools and support to grow your practice.

THE ROLE:

As an important member of our Corporate Team, you’ll be the key driver in leading client matters assigned to you, responsible for ensuring tasks are provided to schedule, and the objectives and expectations of our clients and the law are met. You will work with a range of bluechip clients across various industries – from family office and SMEs to listed entities.

Reporting to our Associate Director, you’ll be responsible for helping drive the productivity of your team and supported in the growth of your practice.

You’ll be a central figure for our clients, building trusted relationships. You will uphold our proactive, positive approach. You will be supported in your role by a lawyer and a law graduate. You'll also play a key part in shaping the energy and momentum of our team.

What you’ll do:

  • Strategically lead and manage client matters from first meeting to completion, ensuring seamless delivery and superior client outcomes
  • Support Associate Director in leading larger, complex matters.
  • Lead due diligence processes and drive transaction execution with junior staff, anticipating issues and proactively resolving challenges.
  • Craft concise, impactful communications and legal documentation, tailored to your audience and desired outcome.
  • Set the standard for file management and deadline discipline, ensuring operational excellence across matters
  • Engage with external advisors, senior stakeholders, and clients, influencing decisions and building trusted relationships
  • Exercise sound judgment in interpreting and clarifying client objectives, often in ambiguous or high-stakes contexts
  • Apply advanced critical thinking to shape legal and commercial strategy, contributing to firm-wide thought leadership
  • Mentor, coach, and support junior lawyers fostering a culture of continuous growth and learning.
  • Promote and embody a high-performing, inclusive team environment
