Job summary

Bluestone in Melbourne is seeking an ambitious Associate Quantity Surveyor to deliver high-quality quantity surveying and cost management across major projects. This role suits an experienced QS/Financier or Cost Planner moving toward greater responsibility and equity.

You will manage cost planning, forecasting, and client relationships while supporting Directors and senior leadership on key projects and business development opportunities in a nationally reputable consultancy.

Qualifications

• 6+ years' experience in quantity surveying, cost management, project finance, development finance or a related construction/commercial environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Construction Economics, Property or a related discipline.
• Strong experience within a consultancy environment.
• Experience across one or more sectors including residential, education, aged care, commercial, social/affordable housing, retail or health.
• Strong understanding of cost planning, estimating, feasibility, procurement and commercial reporting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage directly with senior clients and project stakeholders.
• Commercially minded with a genuine interest in business development and building long-term client relationships.
• Most importantly, an ambitious and entrepreneurial mindset with a genuine desire to progress toward equity and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Managing cost planning, estimating and cost reporting from feasibility through to project completion.
• Providing commercial and strategic cost advice to developers, investors, asset owners and project stakeholders.
• Preparing and reviewing feasibility studies, cost plans, tender documentation, procurement advice and contract variations.
• Managing client relationships and becoming a trusted advisor across key accounts.
• Taking ownership of projects and mentoring junior team members.
• Working closely with Directors and senior leadership on major projects and business development opportunities.
• Contributing to the continued growth and development of the Sydney business.
• Developing your own market profile and client network as you progress toward a future equity position.
