The West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) is inviting applications for the position of Associate Principal Oboe. This role is open to Australian citizens, permanent residents, and New Zealand citizens. Candidates will have the opportunity to audition live or submit a recorded audition. The live audition will take place on November 10, 2026, at ABC Studio in Perth, while recorded auditions must be submitted by November 3, 2026.The successful candidate will perform as a musician with WASO, engaging and inspiring the community through musical experiences. Responsibilities include playing at a professional level, participating in rehearsals and performances, and leading the oboe section when required. The position is permanent, subject to a successful six-month trial period, and includes various duties such as community engagement and participation in promotional activities.Candidates must submit a current CV and audition excerpts as specified.
