Job summary

EY in Australia is seeking an Associate Partner in Audit to lead client engagements, shape audit strategy, and deliver high-quality reporting. You’ll develop new relationships, coach teams, and work across ISQM 1 requirements, IFRS reporting, and firm methodologies to drive growth and client delight.

This role can be performed from any EY office in Australia, offering flexible work policies and opportunities to advance within a market-leading practice.

Qualifications

• A degree and/or progress towards accounting qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in professional practice roles and external audit engagements.
• Experience leading audit planning, execution and reporting.
• Ability to develop client relationships and provide value-added recommendations.
• Excellent communication and collaborative leadership skills.
• Ability to coach junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ISQM 1 requirements.
• Consult with engagement teams to ensure compliance with auditing standards and firm methodology.
• Manage audit engagements by defining audit strategy and executing it in compliance with our policies and protocols.
• Effectively manage the Audit process with appropriate consideration of audit risk issues and accounting technical matters.
• Lead and manage fieldwork on clients’ sites including liaising with other departments to ensure the smooth delivery of the Audit process.
• Leverage your expertise in accounting frameworks (IFRS) and in related financial reporting matters.

Associate Partner – Audit

The opportunity

As our Associate Partner in Audit, you'll play a key role within our professional practice team and as a client serving team member to help our clients meet their reporting requirements by accurately reporting on financial statements and providing meaningful insights into accounting and reporting matters. Your key responsibilities

• Assist with the firm’s ISQM 1 requirements.
• Consult with engagement teams to ensure compliance with auditing standards and firm methodology.

• A degree and/or progress towards/completion of a recognised accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in professional practice roles and delivering external audit and assurance engagements.
• Experience leading the planning, execution and reporting on audits.
• The ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their concerns and providing value added recommendations.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative approach to management.
• The ability to create a positive learning culture, and coach and counsel junior team members to help them to develop.
