What You Will Get To Do :

The Fund Tax Accountant is a newly created role designed to support the Australian Tax Services team with daily tax compliance for alternative fund clients. This role requires someone who has a proactive attitude, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Customer service experience is highly regarded, as client satisfaction is a top priority at SS&C.

In this role, you will handle tax compliance calculations, assist with client deliverables, and contribute to transitions and project outcomes. Responsibilities also include testing processes, updating standard operating procedures, and supporting system improvements. While much of the work involves using internal and external software, you’ll also work manually with Excel to prepare some level of reports and calculations.

Support the Australian Tax team in delivering accurate and timely tax tasks.

Assist in preparing tax compliance calculations, including distribution calculations, tax provisions, AIIR, income tax returns, investor statements, and BAS returns using software and Excel.

Collaborate with internal teams such as Fund Accounting, Investment Relations, and FATCA to complete tax-related tasks.

Ensure strict adherence to operational compliance and risk management policies.

Contribute to projects by testing and refining tax templates and processes.

Participate in internal and external tax training sessions as required to enhance knowledge and skills.

Handle assigned client portfolios and respond to clients’ queries in a timely manner with limited supervision

What You Will Bring :

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration / Management, Economics, or Commerce.

2-3 years’ experience in fund / corporate tax (preferred) or audit with tax exposure, gained within a professional services, financial services firm, or another fund administrator.

Qualified CA / CPA certificate or near completion

Proactive and enthusiastic mindset, eager to learn, with confidence in seeking guidance when necessary.

Demonstrated ability to deliver results with exceptional attention to detail and teamwork skills, proven through academic achievements or professional experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and effectively.
