Looking for your first move out of practice and into industry?

Perhaps you’ve worked with large clients on corporate tax matters in the past, and now is the time to explore what an ASX-listed company has to offer. This is a great opportunity to experience working in-house and see how the impact of your work can make a real difference to a growing business.

You’ll be the go-to tax specialist for all tax compliance matters, covering ANZ and several global jurisdictions. You’ll report to a supportive, highly experienced Head of Tax.

Operating within the travel industry, this company has experienced rapid growth through mergers and acquisitions, alongside strong branding and revenues that continue to grow.

Whether you are an Assistant Manager in a reputable accounting firm or already in an in-house position, we’d love to hear from you. While the role is compliance-focused, around 20% of the responsibilities will be advisory-based. Importantly, the tax compliance aspect is complex, so if you enjoy the intricacies of tax and want to maintain and improve processes, this could be the perfect role for you.

About You

  • 3+ years of experience in either an accounting firm (working with large clients) or currently in a similar industry role.
  • Corporate tax experience is essential; experience with BAS, GST, FBT, and WHT is preferred.
  • Someone who takes initiative, takes control of processes, and has the confidence to implement new ideas.
  • Advanced Excel skills are essential, including the use of Power Query, pivot tables, etc.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse large data sets.
  • Strong knowledge of tax effect accounting, tax compliance, and tax reporting.

About the Company

  • Multinational travel company with circa $4bn in revenue.
  • A small but experienced tax team with strong partnerships across finance, external resources, and other key stakeholders.
  • Continued growth through M&A activities and strong sales.

Progression

  • While you will initially join as a Senior Tax Specialist, you can expect to be promoted to Tax Manager within approximately two years, subject to performance.
  • Opportunities for wider involvement in tax advisory matters, including tax governance, M&A, R&D, transfer pricing, and more.

Interview Process

Two stages:

  • First interview with the Head of Tax.
  • Second interview with the Head of Tax and a representative from either HR or the wider finance function.
