Job summary

Woolworths Group in Wangaratta is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to lead front-line teams and coach department managers. You will help deliver a consistently great shopping experience while supporting leadership development and store performance.

You will work to motivate teams, manage operations daily, and contribute to a welcoming environment aligned with Woolworths values. This role is on-site with opportunities for growth within the group.

About The Role

Our Assistant Store Manager roles are a gateway to the Store Manager role which provides an opportunity for our future retail leaders to learn and hone their leadership skills for appointment into their own store.

As an Assistant Store Manager at Woolworths Supermarkets, you are at the forefront of delivering value to our customers and creating a great place to work and grow careers for our team.

As a leader who cares, you will play a key role in coaching and supporting the Grocery Manager, Online Manager, and Nightfill Manager to deliver to our customers through a connected team. You will have the opportunity to play an active role in leading the Store with the Store Manager to provide our customers with a great place to shop and for our team to grow their careers.

We serve over 1000+ communities which means our Assistant Store Managers need to lead their large and dynamic teams in a connected and caring way to deliver consistently good shopping experience for our customers.

What You'll Do

As an Assistant Store Manager at Woolworths Supermarkets you will role model our values and genuine care to create and support a culture within your store in which every team member feels they belong. In addition to this, you will:

  • Demonstrate an unwavering focus on customer satisfaction by enabling a positive whole of store shopping experience through Everyday ACTs - Acknowledge, Care & Thank
  • Make safety a top priority for team and customers by ensuring correct processes are followed in store
  • Support a culture of collaboration within departments to create a great experience for our team members and ensure team have meaningful hours
  • Support the development of the wider stores team and leaders to unlock their potential so that they can achieve their career goals at Woolies
  • Use data to deeply understand the needs of customers to ensure priorities relevant to your store are prioritised to improve both team and customer experience
  • Deliver key performance metrics and targets across the Grocery, Online and Nightfill departments by working with the Department Managers to ensure appropriate resourcing and that team are correctly trained and right process are followed
  • Supports strong community partnerships to bring value and connection to the wider community
  • Acts on and supports the Sustainability Plan to contribute to creating a better tomorrow for everyone
