Job summary

Autobarn is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our Newcastle-Maitland team. You’ll work closely with the Store Manager, lead a hands-on team, drive sales, and ensure a safe, customer‑focused shopping environment across our automotive parts and accessories range.

You’ll coach and develop the team, manage stock and store operations, and step in when the Store Manager is away, helping to deliver KPIs and maintain our reputation as a trusted, nationwide automotive retailer.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail leadership or assistant management role.
• Excellent customer service skills with a proven ability to drive sales and achieve KPIs.
• Ability to coach and motivate a team.
• Experience with inventory, stock management and store operations.
• Experience in retail (essential) or automotive industry (advantageous but not essential).
• A positive, hands-on attitude and a willingness to keep learning and developing.

Responsibilities

• Creating a safe, positive and well‑run store environment.
• Driving sales by promoting products, upselling, and meeting sales targets.
• Assisting customers with automotive parts and accessories advice.
