Job summary

Autobarn, part of Bapcor, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to lead from the front, support daily operations and drive sales in a busy automotive retail environment.

You will work closely with the Store Manager to coach a customer-focused team, manage stock, and ensure a safe, positive store culture while meeting KPIs.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail leadership or assistant management role.
• Excellent customer service skills with ability to drive sales and achieve KPIs.
• Ability to coach and motivate a team.
• Experience with inventory, stock management and store operations.
• Retail or automotive industry experience is advantageous.
• Positive, hands-on attitude and willingness to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, positive and well-run store environment.
• Drive sales by promoting products, upselling and meeting sales targets.
• Assist customers with automotive parts and accessories advice.
• Coach, motivate and develop team members on the shop floor.
• Assist with inventory, stock control and deliveries.
• Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operational leadership.
• Take responsibility for the store in the Store Manager's absence.

As the Assistant Manager, you'll be working closely with the Store Manager, playing a hands‑on leadership role - supporting daily operations, driving sales results, and developing a customer‑focused team that takes pride in getting it right.

What you’ll be responsible for

As the Assistant Store Manager, you will support and contribute to:

• Creating a safe, positive and well‑run store environment
• Drivingsales by promoting products, upselling, and meeting sales targets
• Assisting customers with automotive parts and accessories advice
• Coaching, motivating and developing team members on theshop floor
• Assisting with inventory, stock control and deliveries
• Supporting the Store Manager in day‑to‑day operational leadership
• Takingresponsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager

Qualifications

You’ll bring a strong retail mindset and a genuine desire to lead and grow people. Ideally, you’ll have:

• Experience in a retail leadership or assistant management role
• Excellent customer service skills with a proven ability to drive sales and achieve KPIs
• Ability to coach and motivate a team
• Experience with inventory, stock management and store operations
• Experience in retail(essential)or automotive industry(advantageous but not essential)
• A positive, hands‑on attitude and a willingness to keep learning and developing
