Job summary

Amida Group is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join their Brisbane team. You will work on Retail, Commercial and Residential projects, supporting end-to-end project delivery from front-end through completion while managing stakeholders and client expectations.

The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years’ experience in client-side PM or head contractor roles, strong communication skills and proficiency with MS Office and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in civil engineering, construction management or similar.
• 2–4 years’+ experience in client-side PM or head contractor roles.
• End-to-end project management skills from concept to completion.
• Experience with program management, timelines and critical paths.

Responsibilities

• Procurement of design consultants, construction contractors and other specialists.
• Contracts administration and claims management.
• Management of approvals and design development processes.
• Exposure to various procurement models and contract types.
• Delivery of project management services to clients within scope and budget.
• Preparing tender submissions and maintaining stakeholder networks.
• Managing regulatory approvals and design coordination.
• Program management and construction delivery oversight.

Be part of a leading team delivering Retail, Commercial & Residential projects across Brisbane.

Our client is a growing boutique project management consultancy with an established pipeline of Retail, Education, Health, Hospitality, Hotels, Aged Care, Office and Government sectors to name a few. Projects can be fit out / refurbishment, upgrades as well as new build projects from smaller up to $50m and sometimes up to $100m+. They are now looking for a Assistant Project Manager to join their successful team in Brisbane.

The candidate can come from a head contractor or a client-side background with excellent progression opportunities. Candidates ideally will have experience working across a variety of construction projects in different phases of the construction lifecycle from front end through to delivery. Candidates will need to have strong client-facing, communication and stakeholder management skillsets.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Procurement of design consultants, construction contractors and other specialist consultants
• Contracts administration and claims management
• Management of statutory approval and design development processes
• Exposure to various construction procurement models and contract types
• Issues, risk and dispute management
• Delivery of project management services to your client to agreed scope, schedule and fee budget
• Preparing tender submissions
• Develop and maintain strong network and deliver outstanding services
• Managing regulatory approvals
• Design co-ordination
• Stakeholder management and liaison
• Working in a “live” environment (the buildings remain open during construction)

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in civil engineering, construction management or similar
• 2 - 4 years’+ experience in either a client-side PM role or head contractor would also be ideal
• Proven end to end project management skills from concept through to completion
• Exposure to program management, managing timelines and critical paths
• Experience of end-to-end project management on a variety of building projects, commercial fit out would be an advantage
• Excellent communication skillset both written and verbal
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Ability to think on your feet and excellent problem-solving skills
• Proficient in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project as well as experience with various industry standard contract forms ie; GC21, AS4000, AS4122 and AS4902
