Job summary

Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) invites applications for an Assistant Principal role at St Eugene College, Burpengary, to support the Principal in teaching leadership and Catholic identity. The position is a substantive 5-year appointment with continuing teaching status and a fixed-term leadership focus.

You will drive student achievement, wellbeing and curriculum outcomes across the primary years, lead curriculum design and assessment aligned with BCE standards, and collaborate with families

Qualifications

  • Experience as an Assistant Principal, Assistant Principal Religious Education, Deputy Principal, Head of Campus or Principal, or a senior role providing support and leadership to Catholic schools.
  • Experience in teaching, and leading the teaching of, religious education.

Responsibilities

  • Model and embed a contemporary Catholic worldview within curriculum design, pedagogy and assessment practices.
  • Lead the design, implementation and evaluation of a compliant whole-school curriculum aligned with BCE frameworks and system expectations.
  • Lead the development of high-impact pedagogical practices that improve student learning outcomes across all year levels.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of assessment frameworks that are aligned with QCAA and BCE expectations.
  • Collaborate with inclusive education leaders to ensure curriculum access and participation for all learners.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the Campus Leadership Team to align teaching and learning priorities with BCE strategic direction.
  • Ensure all curriculum, assessment and reporting practices comply with BCE policies, QCAA requirements and legislative expectations.
  • Ensure clear, timely and professional communication with parents and caregivers regarding student learning progress and curriculum matters.
  • Contribute to whole-school strategic planning, improvement agendas and review processes aligned with BCE frameworks.

Summary

As the Assistant Principal at St Eugene College, Burpengary, you will lead teaching and learning excellence, and drive student achievement across our primary years; Prep - Year 6.

About You

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

  • Experience as an Assistant Principal, Assistant Principal Religious Education, Deputy Principal, Head of Campus or Principal, or a senior role providing support and leadership to Catholic schools, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in teaching, and leading the teaching of, religious education.
Eligibility And Safeguarding Requirements
  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
  • For this position you are required to be Catholic (or a faith partner of one of our ecumenical schools).
