Sacred Heart School is a vibrant Kindergarten to Year 10 Catholic school located in the remote Aboriginal community of Beagle Bay on the beautiful Dampier Peninsula in Western Australia, north of Broome. Guided by the Sacred Heart of Jesus, our school values of Love, Mercy, Respect and Courage underpin the way we learn, lead and work together. We are seeking an enthusiastic, relational and highly capable educator to join our Leadership Team as Assistant Principal. Working closely with the Principal, the successful applicant will provide leadership across the four domains of Catholic Identity, Education, Community and Stewardship. This is an exciting opportunity for a leader who is prepared to become genuinely involved in the life of the school and community and who sees the strengths, culture and aspirations of our students and families as central to their work. Selection Criteria

A strong commitment to Catholic education and the capacity to actively lead the faith life and Catholic identity of the school.

• Demonstrated leadership in teaching and learning, with the ability to support and develop staff capacity and improve student outcomes.
• A strong commitment to First Nations education, culturally responsive practice and building respectful relationships with students, families and community.
• The ability to lead and support the development of secondary, VET and career pathways for students.
• Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a leadership team.
• A willingness to embrace the opportunities and challenges of living and working in a remote Aboriginal community.

Qualifications Required

• Relevant four-year tertiary teaching qualification.
• Current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).
• Current Working with Children Check, or eligibility to obtain one prior to commencement.
• Accreditation to Teach Religious Education.
• Accreditation for Leadership in a Catholic School, or demonstrated progress towards meeting CEWA accreditation requirements.
• A minimum of seven years relevant educational experience is desirable.
