Assistant Plumbing Maintenance Operations Manager

Maintenance & Scheduled Works | Full Time | Career Progression Role

We are a well-established and growing plumbing company specialising in maintenance, scheduled works, and contracted plumbing services. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an Assistant Plumbing Maintenance Operations Manager to support our Maintenance Operations Manager and assist with the smooth, efficient delivery of our maintenance workload.

This role is ideal for a senior maintenance plumber, supervisor, or experienced coordinator who wants to move into operations and management without being thrown in the deep end.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working closely with our Maintenance Operations Manager, you will gain hands‑on experience in the day‑to‑day coordination of plumbing maintenance operations, with structured support, training, and mentoring.

You will progressively take on responsibility for planning, scheduling, and team coordination while being supported every step of the way.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with scheduling and coordination of maintenance and scheduled plumbing works
• Support daily planning of labour, vans, and job priorities
• Liaise with plumbers, supervisors, and office staff
• Assist with tracking labour hours, job progress, and margins
• Support management of quoted works, variations, and follow‑up jobs
• Assist with quality control, compliance, and WHS requirements
• Handle client queries and escalate issues when required
• Contribute to improving systems, processes, and workflows

ABOUT YOU

• Background in maintenance plumbing, trade supervision, or operations coordination
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Understanding of job costing and productivity (or willingness to learn)
• Comfortable using job management and scheduling systems
• Leadership mindset with a desire to progress into an Operations Manager role
• Trade background highly regarded but not essential
