Job summary

Fantastic Furniture North Lakes is seeking an Assistant Manager to join our North Lakes store. Reporting to the Retail Business Leader, you will lead daily store operations, drive growth, and ensure safety while delivering a fantastic customer experience.

You will optimise staff rostering, manage costs, and coach a high-performing team by providing training and the right tools. If you value collaboration, learning, and helping customers create homes they love, this role is for you.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of retail experience with leadership and coaching responsibility.
  • Ability to analyse financial data to meet targets and drive operational excellence.
  • Commitment to learning and uplifting team capability.
  • Willing to complete Cert III Retail or similar qualifications.
  • Experience in stockroom/warehouse is preferred.
  • Ability to give feedback and manage challenging situations.
  • Commitment to safety and wellbeing of the team and customers.

YOUR NEW ROLE

An exciting opportunity to join Fantastic Furniture's North Lakes store as the Assistant Manager! Reporting to the Retail Business Leader (aka the store manager), you're responsible for leading the daily operations of the store to support business growth objectives. You proactively identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiencies, nail staff rostering and manage costs of doing business. You're focussed on equipping your team with the right training, tools and resources to succeed in their roles. You'll lead by example to inspire a high performing team culture that prioritises safety and delivers a fantastic place to work and shop.

About You
  • With 2+ years' retail experience, you have proven experience leading and coaching teams. You're passionate about delivering a Fantastic customer experience, it's why you're in retail.
  • You can confidently analyse financial data to deliver targets and support operational excellence.
  • You prioritise your learning and that of your team to uplift capability of your team and inspire success.
  • If you haven't already completed relevant qualifications (Cert III Retail or similar), you are willing to do so, as well as invest in ongoing learning opportunities.
  • You ideally have some stockroom/warehouse experience
  • You're not afraid to give feedback and can navigate challenging situations.
  • You always put the safety of your team and customers above all else and genuinely care about the health and wellbeing of your team.
