Job summary

The Macquarie Inn in Dubbo seeks an enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join ALH Hotels. You will lead front-of-house operations, support the Publican, and help drive a warm, country-style guest experience in a busy country pub.

Base salary from $80,000 plus Super, a Bonus Scheme, and group-wide discounts. RSA/RCG are required, and you’ll be part of a close-knit hospitality team with opportunities across the Endeavour Group network.

Qualifications

• RSA and RCG certification required as per NSW state rules.
• Experience supervising bar, bistro, or gaming room teams.
• Strong people skills and approachable leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the pub team and ensure a great guest experience.
• Support the Publican to run the pub safely and smoothly.
• Learn the ropes of Publican duties while guiding a team.
• Handle hiccups promptly to maintain energy and vibe.
• Bring energy, service, and smiles on every shift.

We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Macquarie Inn buzzing and loved by the locals.

Located on the corner of Birch Avenue and Wheelers Lane, The Macquarie Inn brings authentic country-style charm to Dubbo. With its iconic exposed beams, open fireplaces, and wide verandas, we offer a warm Australian welcome to locals, tourists, and business travelers alike.

We are looking for friendly, hard-working individuals to join our close-knit hospitality team!

A Day In The Life Of An Assistant Manager

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent Requirements

• This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About You

• You’ve been around the bar, bistro, or gaming room block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA and RCG as per state requirements
