Job summary

ALH Hotels’ Dunsborough Hotel is seeking an Assistant Manager to help keep the pub buzzing and loved by locals. You’ll support the Publican, lead a team, and learn the ropes of publican duties.

You’ll build local connections, handle daily operations, and ensure safety and a great vibe across shifts. Prior supervisory experience and current RSA/Approved Manager licences are required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role requiring physical tasks (lifting/mmoving stock)
• RSA and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
• Experience in bar and bistro supervision preferred
• Willingness to lead and represent the pub when the manager is away

Responsibilities

About The Role

We’re on the hunt for our next Assistant Manager to help keep the Dunsborough Hotel buzzing and loved by the locals.

A Day In The Life Of An Assistant Manager

• Get to know the locals so well they think you’re part of the crew
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of absolute hospo legends
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches
• Bring the energy, the service, and the smiles every single shift

Inherent Requirements

• This is a hands‑on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.

About You

• You’ve been around the bar and bistro block, and maybe already done some supervising
• You’ve learned from great managers and now you’re ready to step up
• You’ve got the confidence, pride, and people skills to be the face of the pub when the boss is away
• You’ve got a current RSA and Approved Managers Licence as per state requirements
