Job summary

Moore Australia Darwin is seeking an Assistant Manager or an established Senior Accountant to join our Business Advisory team. You will work with a diverse range of clients, delivering high-quality accounting, taxation and advisory services while mentoring junior team members.

You will bring CA/CPA qualification (or be working towards it), strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to nurture client relationships within a collaborative,

Qualifications

  • CA or CPA qualified accountant (or working towards qualification) in public practice.
  • Public practice accounting experience and strong technical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Able to build strong client and colleague relationships.
  • Collaborative, coaching-oriented mindset and mentoring others.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience using Xero, MYOB and Reckon APS is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing complex financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.
  • Preparing management accounts, cash flow forecasts and annual financial reports across industries.
  • Producing, maintaining and interpreting financial information using Xero, MYOB and Reckon APS.
  • Calculating and reconciling Payroll Tax and Workers Compensation Insurance.
  • Managing client relationships and providing practical, commercial advice.
  • Reviewing the work of junior team members and providing coaching and technical guidance.
  • Assisting with workflow management and engagement delivery.
  • Preparing invoices at the completion of engagements.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an Assistant Manager or established Senior Accountant to join our Business Advisory team in Darwin.

In this role, you will work closely with a diverse range of clients, providing high-quality accounting, taxation and business advisory services. You will also play an important role in mentoring and developing junior team members while gaining exposure to complex technical work and client engagements that will further enhance your professional growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and reviewing complex financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.
  • Preparing management accounts, cash flow forecasts and annual financial reports across a variety of industries and entity structures.
  • Producing, maintaining and interpreting financial information using Xero, MYOB and Reckon APS.
  • Calculating and reconciling Payroll Tax and Workers Compensation Insurance.
  • Managing client relationships and providing practical, commercial advice.
  • Reviewing the work of junior team members and providing coaching and technical guidance.
  • Assisting with workflow management and engagement delivery.

About You

You will be a CA or CPA qualified accountant (or currently working towards your qualification) with experience in a public practice accounting environment. You may be an experienced Senior Accountant ready to take the next step in your career, or an established Assistant Manager looking to join a collaborative and high-performing team.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Experience within a public practice accounting firm.
  • Strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • A collaborative approach and a genuine passion for mentoring others.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience using Xero, MYOB and Reckon APS (highly regarded).
