Job summary

Sharp & Carter is assisting a well-established food processing and export business in recruiting an Assistant Financial Accountant. The role offers broad exposure to financial accounting, reconciliations and reporting within a fast-paced, high-volume environment where real responsibility is given early.

You will work closely with the Financial Controller and a 12-15 person finance team, building strong stakeholder relationships and contributing to process improvements across finance and

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• CA/CPA studying or intending to commence.
• Experience in high-volume, transactional or manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and solid accounting fundamentals.
• Proactive, self-starting approach and initiative.
• Excellent communication with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Team player in a close-knit, high-performing team.
• Able to work at pace in a dynamic business environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close, journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support monthly management accounts and reporting schedules.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting, additions, disposals and depreciation.
• Support AP/AR reconciliations.
• Assist with BAS/GST and statutory compliance.
